Q8 and Q9

8. Which countries do NOT allow guns?

Every countries has its own gun policy. Nowadays, most of the advanced countries in the world do not allow citizens to hold guns. The only exception is the US. Outside north America and the rate of gun crimes is very low. Japan is the strictest country in terms of gun ownership. Japan thinks no one shall possess a firearm or firearms of sword or swords. Most European countries also think so, they do not let citizens to hold firearms. The only exception will be hunting, but still even for hunting, gun control is still very strict, it requires classes and written and practical exams should be passed as well. So it is safe to say the US is a exception in terms of guns ownership.

9. Are there anything those countries have in common?

Needless to say, in those countries, the rate of firearm homicide is very low.
According to several researches, most of the countries that succeed in controlling the number of guns are advanced and developed countries.
Among those advanced countries, Japan has the lowest rate while America has the highest and it is significantly beyond number 2.
However, lower rate of firearm homicide does not mean lower crime rate in general.
For example, UK has fairly higher violent crime rates while the rate of firearm homicide is low.
